"Ultimate Boot Camp is one of the best things I have ever done!  I have re-discovered my love for running and being outdoors – and am up every day before work at 5.30am for a morning jog.  Not only am I thrilled with my weight and inch-loss, but I feel motivated to eat healthier and am more focused.  I would highly recommend to invest in a week long Ultimate Boot Camp to any busy professional woman.”

Lucy Longhurst, Mother of 3, Suffolk
February 2009, Devon

"I am a new person thanks to Ultimate Boot Camp!  Not only did I lose 7lbs on the week, but I now enjoy exercise, I never thought I'd hear myself say that!  What’s more, I feel re-educated about food – I now understand portion control and how much and what my body really needs to be healthy.  My husband, Guy, cannot believe the change – he thinks a different woman returned from UBC and that’s exactly how I feel – energised, motivated and confident again.”

Georgie Pelling, Max Brand-Sales Executive, Dorset

"I chose Ultimate Boot Camp because my mum had been to another boot camp and found that the ethos of the week was so much toward dropping weight fast, it was unsustainable and unhealthy.  I was so impressed with the UBC team’s nurturing approach and the aftercare has been faultless.”

Lisa Manser, Doctor, Cornwall

"On my week at Ultimate Boot Camp I ran, hiked, cycled, often staggered and did more push ups than I’ve ever done in my life. However, it was so much more than that. I’ve learned more about nutrition in one week than from a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. I’ve made some really good friends, who also experienced their own personal journeys. I’ve realised that exercise is something that can fit into my life with ease. But most of all I’ve also realised that I can push myself so much further than I previously thought and become the person I always dreamt of."

Nicky Volley, Adult Learning Centre Manager, Isle of White
March 2009, Devon

“Ultimate boot camp taught me how I could use nutrition to make sure my body can work to its full potential and I was  shocked at the amount of food that I should be healthily functioning on – it was far less than I was regularly eating.  The hills that I previously struggled up on my bike have become much easier since the boot camp and I don't even need the energy drinks I used to have to take before my spinning classes!"

Melissa Porter, TV Presenter, London
April 2009, Devon

"I achieved so much on my week at Ultimate Boot Camp; both physically and mentally.  I learnt that I can push my body so much further and that I can eat carbohydrates! I lost 8.5lbs and 5" off my body in one amazing week and best of all, I now have completely clear skin - i've had psoriasis since the age of 12 - incredible!"

Tami Cairley, Manager, Hants
March 2009, Devon

Well I can honestly say Ultimate Boot Camp was a brilliant new start for me. It was exactly what I need to kick start everything.. I mean it wasn't just a keep fit camp that did a one-off quick fix and forget it week! I mean I didn't like running before and now I have entered for the London Marathon for 2010! I mean talk about two ends of the spectrum!
I think more about what and when and how much I eat, without it ruling my life.
The fitness booster was actually a complete new start to fitness and I really enjoy working out now. As long as I chop and change what I do it stays fun and I know it's good for me! I also realize the impact of getting the balance right..how much I eat and how much I exercise.  Ultimate Boot Camp was brilliant, the support, the instruction/learning and most of all the results...it really made me want to carry it on.

"I have just got back from Ultimate Boot Camp and feel absolutely amazing both physically and mentally. The camp has two physical training instructors from the Royal Marines and they really both helped me through this week, always motivating me to keep going and push through my limits. I dropped 5lbs without starving myself, learnt so much about my body and loads of different types of exercise so I don't get bored of it. I also lost 3 inches off my waist, half off my boobs, lower legs, and upper arms and I am so much more toned now.
I really loved my week at boot camp and just wanted to post something on here to encourage people who may be thinking about going on an Ultimate Boot Camp. There are so many camps out there and a lot guarantee that you drop a dress size in a week. I personally felt this wasn't a very safe attitude to weight loss and I love my food (which by the way was lovely). I would really, really recommend Ultimate Boot Camp to all of my friends and family."

Baz O'Connell, Royal Marine PTI, London

"In Jon Stratford, I feel that you have really landed on your feet. Apart from excelling in Physical and Adventure Training he has many other key skills. Your average 'Bootneck' PTI (despite being from the best stock that there is) does not have the same level of people skills and intelligence that Jon possesses and would find it difficult to deliver any of the evolution's in the depth that he does! (Although, obviously being Royal Marine PTI's they would still deliver it to the highest of standards - just that Jon has that little bit extra)."

Claire Feltham, Desk Assistant, Surrey
April 2009, Devon

"Ultimate Boot Camp training is definitely the most challenging as well as the most enjoyable and fun group workout I have ever participated in.  Don't let my use of the word fun fool you though.  This isn't your average group exercise class.  Its tough, really tough, and individual commitment, energy, and endurance is certainly needed. Jon and Ben however, or should I say Royal Marine Commandos, are very enthusiastic, high energy, and they're excellent at keeping you motivated and they won't ever let you forget why you're there.

If you've come across my testimonial on the web...chances are, you are searching for a boot camp and are checking out this one.  You needn't look any further.

Sign up for it today, you won't regret it."

"Going to UBC was one of the best decisions I've made in my life and I had an awesome week. Everything at UBC, from the food through to the instructors was first class and my week at UBC really had a lasting effect on me - I even joined the gym!!.  I've been exercising nearly every day, anything from aerobics (so easy now!) to tennis, bike riding, free weights, circuits and running.  When things get hard I just remember all that I achieved at my week at UBC and that I CAN do it.  To top it all off I bought some new vests from Topshop the other day and had to buy... wait for it... SIZE 10.  I couldn't believe it.  Thanks guys!"

"Ultimate Boot Camp is not just a weekend of mud, sweat and tears (although there was quite a lot!), it is a jam-packed, action-filled experience where, after 48hrs, you are best friends with the woman who egged you on and got you to the top of that hill!

I honestly didn’t know what to expect but I can safely say that the weekend ticked off all the boxes – laughter, tears, hard work, advice and not to mention a fantastic team behind the whole thing. Yes, there were moments when I wanted to go home because I didn’t know how I was going to reach the goal, but I constantly surprised myself with how much I could achieve.

Don’t go to Ultimate Boot Camp expecting a soft ride, but I lost 4lb and 4inches in one weekend – who can argue with that?!"

"Ultimate Boot Camp where you not only Lose but Gain all at the same time!!!!

Lose as in those unwanted pounds and inches and Gain as in lifetime experiences and special friends!!!

Id spent years trying to lose my baby weight but year after year to no avail. That was until i discovered Ultimate Boot Camp! With all their fantastic knowledge, expertise and their very friendly and caring attitude I found the shear determination and discipline to finally reach my goals!
I cannot recommend UBC highly enough, the team are fantastic and although not easy its the best experience I have had and to know the support continues long after the camp is very reassuring!

At a very tough time in my life i found UBC and with their help now feel i have a much brighter future!"

Lesley Taylor, Police Officer, London

"Just want to say thanks to everyone involved, it was fantastic. And to anyone thinking of going on a bootcamp don't just think about it, do it, with Ultimate Boot Camp.  A very professionally organised weekend with friendly staff, that was great fun for everyone involved.  And what a fantastic location, and so very fortunate with the weather. I haven't laughed like that in ages, especially with Mrs 'Flip flop' and team 'S*** the bed'! Don't think that I have stopped talking about it since I got back, and looking forward to meeting up with the girls soon.

Although out of my 'comfort zone' on some activities and certainly with the food, I tried everything and enjoyed all of it, even the freezing cold water, sort of...you know what I mean, I think that there may even be pictures!!!

What a great incentive to contine the exercise and healthy eating after losing 3lbs in as many days, all due to the enthusiasm and encouragement from all at Ultimate Boot Camp.  Jon and Les, (AKA Chesney) were fantastic instructors and very encouraging, even the 'just walk through it' helped, as did seeing Sam on her bum at the end of most activities.'

"If you're ready to commit to changing your life and beginning your journey to finding the "old" or "new" you, then Ultimate Boot Camp is a must for your diary!

I found UBC was a battle of not only my physical, but also my mental muscles. I’ve lost lb’s but gained new friends and a wealth of valuable information.  An invigorating experience that’s left me fired up, well informed and ready to kick start a new and sustainable approach to my lifestyle. Now where did I put those hiking boots……..?!"

Lorna Baines, Businees Development advisor, Cornwall
June Ultimate Weekend, Devon

"UBC is the best thing I have ever done, and will definitely do it again! I can't stop talking about it, and must have recommended it to half of Cornwall by now!

I came back from the weekend, feeling more refreshed, positive and relaxed than I ever have from a holiday, and the feeling has lasted.

The two marine PTI’s, Jon and Les, were fantastic, and so supportive as well as being a lot of fun. The activities were varied, and because we were enjoying ourselves it didn’t feel like exercise!

I overcame my fear of heights by completing two abseils and a rock climb, as well as a zip wire through the trees!

I really feel that this experience has made a positive impact and has changed my way of thinking, and my approach to diet and exercise."

"Ultimate Bootcamp was a fantastic experience.  It has been two weeks since I have left bootcamp and I can definitely say my life has changed for the better.  I am still not drinking tea/coffee/diet coke.  I feel much happier and healthy within myself.  The Ultimate Bootcamp team were fantastic.  Sam was a brillant Camp Manager.  Jon the Head PTI was excellent. The most valuable lesson I learnt from Ultimate Bootcamp was that the only person that was stopping me from achieving something was me.

I would strongly recommend Ultimate Bootcamp to anyone.  It is a worthwhile, experience and it will change your life - ' I promise'. I have lost another four pounds since Bootcamp and to date my weight loss is 11lbs"

"I decided to spend a week at Ultimate Boot Camp as I was on a break before starting a new job and needed a boost and a real kickstart. I could not have chosen a better way to spend a week. I arrived feeling slightly fatigued and came away motivated, educated and having made firm friends. UBC do an amazing job of keeping you on the move and having fun. The venue, PTI's and camp managers were fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone of any fitness ability as you will be pushed beyond your own limits, not anyone's elses. Thank you UBC!"

"What a week! From submerging myself in a muddy bog, to breathtaking evening walks as the sun set over the beautiful Devon coastline, Ultimate Boot Camp exhilarated each of my senses in every way possible. As a seasoned exerciser, I was pushed to my absolute limit and more by the fantastic trainers John, Les and Baz (they looked lovely in their tight tops!) yet loved every minute – well almost! Yes, there were hard times and I can’t say getting up at 5.30am each morning was a completely joyous experience, but the smug sense of achievement, combined with utter exhaustion, you feel at the end of the day makes any earlier despair worthwhile. All of the staff, especially Sam were eternally motivating and the food was as tasty as anything you’d get in a great restaurant. I can honestly say I’ve never felt so fit and good about myself than I did the morning I left UBC. It was a truly uplifting experience and I’m desperate to return. "

"The best thing was not the 6lb weight loss in 5 days, nor the 6½ loss in inches, nor the toned muscles and increased fitness, but the fact that after a week with the UBC Team I found myself walking to work this morning with my head up rather than staring at the pavement.  It was worth all the pain, the mud, the 6am runs, the smelly kit, the tortuous circuits, the boxing and the caffeine withdrawal symptoms just for that.

Jon and Warren the PTI's, somehow, and I still haven't figured out how they did it, brought out a confidence to push myself harder and higher and further than I ever thought I could. They were so professional and encouraging that when they said I could jump off a waterfall, I truly believed (despite my jelly legs) that I could. And I did!"

"I was weary about forking out for Ultimate Boot Camp at the start, thinking "everyone knows how to get healthy: Eat less, do more!"  It's putting it into practice long term that's the problem.  What difference can a week make?

However, after lots of expert advice, healthy and delicious food, and getting to try different types of exercise, as well as group talks and individual life-coaching on things like motivation and goals, getting healthy doesn't seem so difficult anymore.  I now vary my exercise routine and who I train with to keep me interested, and am learning to treat myself without feeling guilty AND without thinking, "screw it, I might as well eat the whole kitchen now!"
Furthermore at UBC I had a really fun week and met an interesting group of people, all attending for completely different reasons and with stories and advice to share.

It was great to step back and think about myself for a while, and I really recommend the experience to anyone who has the opportunity, as you will definitely leave feeling ten times more positive. Enjoy!"

"What a Week!!!! Not only did we have tears, laughter, weight loss, inch loss, new friends but a fantastic feeling of self achievement.

As I set off for Hereford on that sunny August morning, I struggled to understand how I would possible survive a week at Ultimate Boot Camp!!! I have to say after a day and a half of hard sweat, non stop activities I knew the week was going to be tough but tremendous fun.

I left at the end of the week lighter, thinner and armed with the tools to a new healthy lifestyle,.  Sam the "Camp Manager"  the UBC team ( Jon, Warren, Becky, Julie and not forgetting Mandy our own cook) were fantastic.  Their organisation, support and professionalism is what made the week, coupled with meeting a great group of girls.

We shared each others pain (Jen, Nats, Laura, bruise city, Warren losing at everything!!!) triumphs ( me and heights, Jayne and water to name a few) and for that I am still smiling.

If your reading this and thinking about a boot camp look no further You need SAM and the UBC  Team. "

Until my arrival in Devon for UBC, I was gloriously, naively unaware of Bootcamps. Pretty much until we all met up at the Station and we started our journey to what was to be home for the next week, where we were exchanging reasons for being there and felt a tad concerned hearing stories of other Bootcamp experiences. I was still really not too sure what to expect as on the whole I don't think I heard a positive recollection of other Bootcamps then or upon reflection at all during the course of the week. In fact only horror stories, so I was somewhat apprehensive to say the least.....

My reasons for going were a kick-start; I had simply lost my Mojo. A friend had been on UBC in March and just said I would love the experience and that I owed it to myself. She came back looking fantastic and I was genuinely pleasantly surprised by the impact it has had on her body and her lifestyle.

As pretty much everything I do in my life is by referral - I signed up.

From the time we arrived, I felt that the team had gone to great lengths to ensure our well-being and I felt safe in their company. Yes it was early starts, but how else can you pack in the huge variety of experiences you have in 6 days. After the shock, I realised I was not hungry, in fact at no time was I hungry during the week.

So at the end of the week, I weighed 5lbs less than when I arrived. I really enjoyed the detox, met some incredible women, laughed out loud every day, was out of my comfort zone most days and did things I had never done before and reminded myself about things I had done but not for ages and really enjoyed that whole element.

This should be a reward for great performance at work, as this is a fantastic gift to give one self and would be really special if your company sent you on it just to thank you for your efforts. Now this may sound odd but I have to share that this was both an incredible experience and a defining time for me.

At 41 I wasn’t the oldest, the youngest the fittest or indeed the unfittest but I was able to go alone, and meet top women from all walks of life and in the mix made some great new friends and contacts.

I think there were a couple of things that really impacted and stayed with me from my experience: the educational aspect of the week, nutritional, personally and physically and also if is easy, its normally not worth having....

Go Commando and JFDI!

It is amazing what you can achieve with loads of support. I would never have thought I could complete a week of boot camp but I did.

Ultimate Boot Camp was such an enjoyable week. The variety of activities was staggering and every single day was different with new challenges.. I feel so much healthier and motivated regarding exercise which was one of my reasons for going. I’ve even been able to achieve one of my goals. People comment on how well I look and I am thrilled with my weight loss.  Having access to the member’s area with all the recipes is also fantastic. I made some of the dishes for a recent dinner party and the guests were stunned as to how tasty and filling they were. Even my colleagues at work are enjoying the snacks I bring in.
What really makes the week so special though are the people you meet. The UBC team are just wonderful providing the right level of support exactly when you need it. I would highly recommend UBC for anyone looking for a boot camp.

Thank you all so so much.

Our first experience of UBC was a taster session with Jon at the Vitality Show in March. We knew after that we were in for a challenge but we could never have imagined how rewarding it would be.

On that sunny afternoon in August we sat at the meeting point wondering what we had let ourselves in for! Anticipation turned to fear when we saw our mean, lean PTIs jump out of the mini bus to meet us, now we were really wondering what we had let ourselves in for!

The camp was full on from arriving at the house and the constant anticipation kept it exciting. Some of it came as quite a shock to us - Ballet teachers don't usually indulge in games of rugby or tug-of-war but we absolutely loved it! We tried so many new activities, conquered fears and gained a new level of self-belief. We feel  honoured to have shared this amazing experience with such a fabulous group of girls - each of us had a different reason for being there but shared a common goal in our determination to succeed.

Our PTI's, Jon and Warren were amazing all week. Their encouragement, support and enthusiasm got us through even the most challenging times.
We never felt pressured by them to do any of the activities but their unwavering belief in us gave us the strength to challenge ourselves both mentally and physically. It was a true privilige to be trained by them. We are currently training for the Great North Run and as we run up those tough Bradford hills we can hear Jon and Warren in our heads telling us "drive with the arms" and "good effort", it makes us smile and keeps us going.

We received invaluable advice and support from Nutritionist, Becky and Life Coach, Julie which they will be pleased to know we have taken on board and adapted our lifestyles. Mandy's delicious cooking kept us well fuelled throughout the week.

We cannot thank camp manager Sam enough for making all of this possible. Not only does she provide a really professional service she also provides a shoulder to cry on, much needed hugs and lots of laughs!

Our 'best friend holidays' usually involve cocktails and sunbathing -  this summer we were planning to go to Jamaica, somehow we ended up in Hereford - it's one of the best decisions we ever made. No one can appreiciate this experience unless they try it but having your best friend to share it with makes the memories even more special.

If you are considering going to a Boot Camp - UBC is the best. We might see you there in 2010 as we will definitely be going back for more!

"Not the screaming drill instructors you might imagine ... a high-energy team motivating you to bring out the best in yourself!

UBC taught me that my body is capable of much much more than I previously imagined, and inspired me to new levels of health and fitness to carry through into daily life."

Chris Watts, Builder, Essex

"I approached the men`s weekend not expecting too much, but was looking to get fit again and have a bit of fun in the process. It ended up being the most mentally and physically exhausting weekend of my life, but at the same time incredibly enjoyable and with a huge sense of self-satisfaction. The team of Jon, Warren and Sam, laid out a fantastic, varied, weekend of intense physical activities and fun, yet challenging experiences. Not knowing what was coming up was slightly frustrating at the time, but only added to the enjoyment, looking back. Jon and Warren`s knowledge of what our bodies are capable of, and their stretching excercises enabled me to wake up for the next morning`s activities feeling reasonably supple, considering I had gone to sleep the night before thinking I would not be able to walk in the morning. The accomodation and food were great and I highly recommend Ultimate boot camp to anyone who wants a sporty, fun and challenging weekend."

I arrived at the Hare and Hounds pub in Putts Corner, Devon after a long drive from Leighton Buzzard feeling a bit nervous, this got worse when I saw my new colleague (training partners) who all looked a lot fitter than me.

Well I had no need to worry from Friday to Monday morning Ultimate Boot Camp was fantastic, my training partners (fellow nutters) were all great company, and continuously encouraged each other. Thanks Lads!

The training organised by the two P.T instructors Jon and Warren was hard work and continuously pushed you to new bounders, but it was all great fun! Running, circuit training, climbing and abseiling all done with a smile on your face (some through gritted teeth) but still great fun!
Each person being challenged to their own ability.

The back room staff were also great, the accommodation was beautiful (although we were never home for long) and the food was made by angels, it was all healthy, nutritious food, but it also tasted great! Thanks to Mandy and Teresa, and then there was Sam who was always there with her warm words of encouragement, and good advice on fruit teas and healthy living!!

So if you fancy a challenge, or want to start a new fitness programme, or just want to have some fun don't miss this.

P.S. You can also lose 8Ib and 4.5 inch's in a weekend and keep it off.  I have a long way to go to get really fit, so I will be back early next year to keep me focused and have some fun!

I was apprehensive before I joined Ultimate Boot Camp, unsure of what to expect. The first morning was a shock to the system, but we quickly got into the swing of things. During my time at boot camp, I had my highs and lows but came out the other end smiling!  I've learnt so much about healthy eating, and I've rediscovered a love of fitness.

I've intergrated what I've learnt into my daily routine, and sice being home, I'm aware of the pounds slowly falling off. I'm now more happier and confident than before I started. I know now that I can achieve whatever I set my mind too, and I woud highly recommend UBC to everyone.

The Staff are highly experienced, and are brilliant motivators, they take the time to listen, explain and keep you going. The food was wonderful and I've come away with so many recipes. Overall, it was fantastic and I would do it all over again!

"My experience of Ultimate Bootcamp in October this year was amazing. I had decided to do this to celebrate turning 40 in August and thought it'd be a nice challenge, something to take me out my comfort zone and test my resilliance. I was hoping to learn something new about myself by experiencing something different................. My God did it tick all those boxes!!!!!!

Losing a few pounds and toning up was an added bonus!

The team were fantastic, John and Andy putting us through our paces, daily, hourly, every single second actually! And Becky meeting our every other need! Great food, Excellent advice and support. I had the added benefit of sharing this experience with my sister Sharon, we were able to use the life coach session which we both benefited from greatly.

This was such a lifestyle changing experience, which i learned so much from. I would love to do it again. I'm using my resistance bands regularly :)"

"What on Earth do you want to do that for!" was pretty much everyone's response to the news I had booked for UBC " I want to be fit" was my response.....vague to say the least, woolly round the edges and a not by any stretch of the imagination a well formed argument, but it just felt like something I needed to do.

Instinct is as valid as logic so I am told. Just for once I trusted mine. I'm glad I countered my usual self that wants to over think, over analyse  and weigh up the pro's and con's. What I gained at UBC was not what I expected, Yes the experience left me fitter and stronger physically but it gave me something far more valuable. It gave me a sense of self that I hadn't realised was missing until I found it.

Would I do it again? Are you mad!  Am i glad I did it? I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

If you hesitate “STOP HESITATING AND APPLY” that is all I have to say.  My experience at Ultimate Boot Camp was simply fantastic!

The camp is really well organised, the food nutritionally controlled is excellent, accommodation lovely and the training perfect. Our PTIs Jon and Andy are not only fabulous trainers but also fantastic human beings, Becky the nutritionist is a wonderful and cheerful person who advised us very well on how and what to eat hassle free and Mandy last but not least our cook is a star.

I had heard pretty bad comments about boot camps, I had great doubts about the concept of the boot camp before joining and enquired many different websites before choosing, I picked ultimate boot camp thinking it was the closest to what I was looking for and I was right.

I was unsure about joining for many different reasons:

a)      I am not a group person always train on my own, am quite shy and being confronted with 14 women and having to train with them was not my cup of tea. I was simply scared.

b)     I did not know what to expect of the fitness level of the group and was looking for something challenging

c)      My diet was pretty appalling and I did not really want anyone to tell me what to eat and when

d)     ?

Well forget about all that!

The group was really nice, we all pushed ourselves and always with a smile, we all supported and motivated each other. Our fitness level was assessed individually at the beginning of the week and Jon and Andy challenged and pushed us all accordingly. I have learnt an awful lot about my way of training and my nutrition and this week has given me strength and motivation to achieve my goals. The camp was a real eye opener on many grounds, a very interesting “inner self observation” exercise.

Not one day looks like another the variety of activities makes the training rich, fun and the challenge constant. It is fantastic to discover how much you can do with functional training, which you could even do at home, in your garden or at the nearest park! It is a fabulous experience that I do recommend to anyone no matter what one is looking for. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will do it again in the near future.

I am THANKFUL to Jon, Andy and Becky to have put me back on the right track to achieve my personal goals and given me back the energy I needed to do so.

Great team!! And congratulation to Sam to have set it in such a good way!

A very enriching experience!

In preparation for my wedding day, I had been following a healthy eating regime and although I had managed to lose a stone in weight I was struggling to get beyond that and was starting to lack focus and motivation for those extra few pounds!

With the wedding only a matter of weeks away, I was hoping that by going to UBC it would give me that last push before the wedding and get me motivated to become more active and exercise so I could tone up a bit.

I don't really know what I expected my boot camp experience to be like but it turned out to be one of the most challenging, exhausting, funny and rewarding experiences I have ever had!

Prior to going to UBC I was doing little to no exercise, so I had huge concerns over how I would cope with a weekend full of exercise. On meeting all the other UBC attendees initially, my concerns grew even more as they talked about how many times a week they exercise!

However, the way each UBC activity is set up, it caters for all levels of fitness allowing everyone to push themselves to their own personal maximum. Don't get me wrong, it will be the most physically and mentally challenging thing you ever do!

The variety of activities we did was fantastic, from rounders to abseiling to circuits on the beach to coastal walks. Sometimes you actually forgot you were exercising as you were having so much fun and it was only after you would think.....actually I have just spent the last hour running around after a ball!

At the end of my UBC experience I had lost 2.5lbs...which isn't bad for a weekend's work!

I think the two main things boot camp taught me were:

1. In order to commit to a regular exercise routine you have to do exercise that you enjoy, otherwise you just won't do it!

2. You can push yourself much harder physically that you think possible and it is not necessarily due to fitness level but is down to mental state of mind

Since UBC, I have signed up to a couple of aerobics classes each week as I realised I just don't like going to the gym and prefer to be in a class with an instructor and music!

I would highly recommend UBC to any other pre-wedding brides out there as it will certainly whip you into shape. My only advice would be, don't go too near the wedding date as you may need time for any bruises to disappear!!

Sue Lawrence, Business Owner, Bath

I chose UBC because I wasn’t just interested in dropping a dress size, I wanted the whole package, I wanted to come away with something to live up to. I wanted long-term change and re-education.  Personally my first achievement was walking into the pub on my own to sign in. I looked around and couldn’t see anyone that I thought would be coming, then I turned and met the man-mountain that is Jon, he signed me in and that’s the when the panic set in, what had I let myself in for - its okay I kept saying, I have my car, I can get in it and drive away at anytime.  I would never have believed that just a week later, I would be crying as I tore myself away from my new friends and saying goodbye to a great team.

So we arrived at our “home” for the week and what a fantastic farm it was, the rooms were beautiful, the scenery fantastic - this all felt too good to be hard work.

The Marine PTI’s that we had, Jon and Andy were superb. They have a really tough job because the groups are all different levels of fitness and different personalities and they have to make sure that everyone gets results regardless of how fast, how strong, or how clever they are. They were amazing at keeping our attention at all times. It doesn’t take too many extra press ups to work out that it is just easier to be punctual. They were real people too and were really good at listening. It wasn’t all about shouting instructions at you!

If you are even thinking of doing a boot camp then UBC is the one to choose. There will be tears I am sure, but the smiles and laughter and achievements will all make it so worthwhile, I think I will apply to be a UBC Ambassador, I just want to tell everyone to go and see what they are really capable of, it doesn’t matter how fit you are, it will have such a positive effect on you I promise you.

I have booked up for a top-up UBC next year already.  I tell you it just changes the person within you. I just realised that life is so short and being fit has just got to be such a plus as you get older, I don’t want to be fat and unhappy for the rest of my life and UBC has empowered me to do something about that. For the record, I never ever wanted to get in my car and drive away….not even when it was time to leave.

Thanks UBC you have changed my life.

"Of all the things I expected Ultimate Boot Camp to be, I never expected it to be one of the best week's of my life.

Despite thinking I was organised, I still managed to arrive late and was fairly nervous about meeting everyone in the pub.  I was more apprehensive about staying with 13 women I hadn't met before, than what lay ahead of me on the Bootcamp, however if someone had told me I would be making friends for life that week, I wouldn't have believed them!  I also never expected to find myself in tears at the end of the week when it came to leaving!

The accommodation is beautiful, the rooms are gorgeous, and the acres of land surrounding it are quite breathtaking.  Little did we realise we would get to see most of it before we left!

The team looking after us was amazing.  Becky managed to be our agony aunt, nurse, mum, teacher and friend (not forgetting she was also our manager and nutrionist!!) and remained calm and cheerful the whole time!  She even joined us on a lot of the activities, so we all got to know and trust her very quickly.
Jon and Andy were brilliant; they taught me so much about my training and how to get the most out of my workouts.  We did so much each day, but it was always varied, fun and usually made us laugh out loud.  They are so encouraging and motivational, you barely notice that they have you pushing yourself harder and harder!
Mandy our cook was wonderful (was tempted to try and smuggle her home with me!) she catered to all our different requirements and served delicious meals and snacks with care and patience.
Behind the scenes, Dawn was so fabulous beforehand, she was truely fantastic and I am so grateful for her help.
And Sam!  Unfortunately she was with us for only the second half of the week, but she is so lovely we felt we all knew her straight away.  What an amazing achievement to have founded such an incredible business!  It is so professionally organised and executed it feels like it has been going for 20 years (although that would be impressive as she looks about 19!!!)

We had such fun that week, so much laughter, I just can't recommend it highly enough; except that I am already booked to go back in March and have booked my husband on the men's weekend! I am waiting for the dates for the summer to come through to book one for later in the year!

The only draw back...you will bore everyone at home stupid about how great it is!"

"My experience at Ultimate Bootcamp was fantastic because it literally was a 'BOOT' up my proverbial .......!!!!!

Talk about being 'stuck in a rut', I  was positively buried in it but thanks to UBC, I was able to clamber out, brush myself down and look again with fresh eyes, (obviously a little lighter and more toned, otherwise what would have been the point of all the blood, sweat and tears!!)   UBC is not just a carefully constructed weight loss and fitness regime, it is a whole package dealing with both your physical and mental wellbeing.

As the week progresses you grow in confidence, not only by conquering your own individual fears but also by watching your fellow recruits surpass their own expectations. It is an extremely humbling and uplifting moment, when one of your group pushes themselves to the limit and accomplishes something they had previously deemed near impossible.  This is all brought about by a team of skilled individuals who truly believe in what they are doing.  Their dedication and commitment is clearly evident and is presented on a daily basis.  Their passion is infectious and if on occasion you falter, you are gently urged forwards once again. It was an incredibly unique experience and one that has altered my mind set opening up a whole spectrum of oppourtunities.

Sam, the creator of UBC had a vision and with the help of her team has made it a reality.  Thank you UBC, I also had a vision and because of you, I can make it a reality too!!!"

It's true what they say 'nothing worth having ever came easy' UBC was not the easiest thing I have ever done but it was a ridiculous amount of fun and the results are sure worth having.

I know a lot of people reading this must be very nervous about the prospect of boot camp, I know I was! Throughout the entire drive to Devon my head was filled with thoughts like 'what am I doing?, Can I really do this?' I'm pleased to say since leaving UBC I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can't do!

I'd also like to reassure anyone who thinks they are too unfit to go to boot camp, when I attended there was a whole range of different people from different backgrounds and the sizes ranged from a size 8 to a size 20, unfortunately after an injury that gave me 3 years of excuses as to why I couldn't go to the gym or why I couldn't go out for that run and most importantly why I had to have that extra bar of chocolate I was the size 20!  I have to say I was pretty ashamed of myself, but my size didn't seem to bother the UBC team I'd never had so much support and encourgement to achieve my goals and achieve I did, after a week of delicous healthy meals and hard but fun and varied exercise i lost 11lbs and 19.5 inches from my body. I don't mean to brag but how AMAZING is that??

I also have to mention the fantastic education we recieved at UBC in health, fitness & nutrition, it's amazing how much knowledge they give you in one week and how much of it actually sinks in! I've taken up a few extra hobbies and love creating healthy 'masterpieces' in the kitchen most of which the recipes are from the members area.

Thanks to the ongoing support from the UBC team I have managed to lose another 6lbs in the 2 weeks post boot camp and an extra 1.5 inches from my waist alone (thats 9 inches from my waist alone sorry to go on about it but I'm just so thrilled) I'm definitely out of my size 20 and back into those clothes that I bagged up and put in the loft for when I could fit back into them (thinking I never actually would, come on you know you've done it too).

I just have to say a huge thank you to UBC you've been amazing and if any of you are making a new years resolution don't make it to get fit make it to go to UBC and the rest will just come naturally!

I must be mad!!!...... that's what everyone at the office said to me when I mentioned I was taking a week off work to be put through my paces by ex Royal Marines.... and I was beginning to believe it .........

My best mate Lisa had entered a competition in a bridal magazine to win 2 places on Ultimate Boot Camp, so when she said to me do you fancy coming with me if I win?  I said "yeah that would be great!" not thinking for one minute that she'd go and win!!!

When she phoned me to say she'd won, my first reaction was oh hell - I'm going to have to get up a 5.30am everyday for a week... and its in January it will be brass monkeys!!  Then it also dawned on me I would have to live without a cup of PG for a week OMG!!!

As the date grew closer my anxiety grew too, once Christmas had come and gone the 22nd January was upon us and we were in the car on the way to Devon.... on route we stopped off at the Little Chef to get our last dose of saturated fat for week .....

When we arrived we met the UBC team and the rest of the recruits.

Once we we showed to our lovely rooms we were soon in our training kit and taking a fitness assessment, the team put us all at ease and we all threw ourselves willingly into all of the activities that came our way.  We all gave 100% to all the activities all of which were fantastic, I did some things I never thought I would do, I conquered my fear of heights by tackling a climbing wall and actually enjoyed running through waist deep water on a freezing January morning.  Most evenings we were all in bed by 9pm getting a well earned rest and looking forward to the next day - even if it meant getting up at 5.30am!! Our days were so varied and we did everything from boxing to coastal walks, circuits to self defence classes, touch rubgy to rounders..... The days flew by and before we knew it, it was our last day.......
All the hard work and effort paid off after jsut 7 days I lost a total of 8.75 inches, 4.75 of which was from around my lower stomach!  I was delighted, and totally bought into the mantra of inch loss rather than getting obsessed with the scales!

I had the most amazing week and I've learned so much about my mind & body and what I can achieve.  Jon and Andy were so motivational, I've retained everything I've learned and both are like little virtual trainers in my head when I'm out on a run! (keep your head up, relax those shoulders). The fab meals we had are now regulars in our house and my husband is loving the tasty nutritious meals I prepare!

I want to say a MASSIVE thanks to Sam, Becky, Jon, Andy and Mandy and all the lovely people I met - thanks for making a cold week in January such a LUSH one!! :)

So..... was I mad as all my colleagues had suggested?  Actually..... I would have been mad not to have gone!!

If I said I was nervous before my first boot camp in October, I think I was even more so for my second. I was worried that I might know too much and might not find any of it exciting or valuable - but I was to be proven so wrong.

I have just completed my second camp in March, it felt like going “home” to meet up with the familiar faces of the UBC team.

I didn’t think that a weekend was going to match up to a full week, but boy I worked hard, only losing slightly less inches and lbs than I did for my week!! So you can do it. It was just as full on, just as infuriating that you are told nothing so you cannot form any pre-conceived ideas - fantastic!

If I could help anyone who is thinking of returning in any way at all, I would just say…a weekend is just NOT long enough…{I know Lynette would kill me for saying that!} Go for a week!

If you are thinking of UBC and are worried that you are not fit enough or too fit or whatever - stop there and click on the “book it” button because, believe me it doesn’t matter what level you are at. It doesn’t matter if you are an “Iron-man champion” or if you can’t run up a flight of stairs without gasping for breath. UBC will look after you, you will have your fitness assessed on the first day and they will pitch your time with them accordingly, it doesn’t matter if you are not as good as anyone else in the group - trust me, I have come last more times that I care to remember - its about you, its about what you can achieve and that’s all that matters. You will be surrounded by a caring team to whom you can talk about health, nutrition, fitness, anything, there is always a friendly ear to run to.

I have to say my two experiences have been totally different, it is so interesting being part of different dynamics in a group of women - which, lets be honest girls could be a recipe for disaster if it were in any other part of our lives, but there is something special about being in a group where we are all in it for ourselves but still always keeping an eye over a shoulder in case one of us should need a hand, or a shoulder to cry on. Being at UBC makes you feel like you belong somewhere, and as a very busy woman who runs her own business and meets people day in and day out, and does fitness classes everyday - I realise that we miss so much just going about our daily lives and lets be honest, time is the most precious gift of all, so to be a part of something - and it doesn’t just end when you come home, it is really special.

I have been offered places on other boot camps and do you know what, I am just not interested, I know they will not measure up to UBC.

If you are still left wondering - on our trip back to the camp after our last mornings training I cried my eyes out, I did not want to leave, and if you still need any further reassurances…….. I am planning my third camp now….

Thank you Ultimate Boot Camp
